With two weeks to go, you—and illustration students across the globe—are on the same home stretch. Our counterparts at the prestigious SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) have kindly provided this week’s header image, which links to their advice for these final weeks.
Their guidance is worth a look (click on the image), but here’s our take: if you’ve managed your time well from Week 1, you shouldn’t find yourself in the state of panic SCAD seems to treat as inevitable—or pulling the dreaded “all-nighters.” We believe that prioritising and planning early makes these last two weeks focused and productive, not frantic. |

So, if you’ve been pacing yourself, you’re already ahead of the curve. And if things feel tight, don’t panic—there’s still time to organise and finish strong without sacrificing sleep or sanity.

Sketchbooks
Second years are wrapping up ILLU5040: Drawing—a module that (surprise!) goes big on drawing and includes a substantial sketchbook component. We can’t wait to see the results in just a couple of weeks.
Looking ahead, first years will get their turn next semester with the brand-new Level 4 partner module, ILLU4060: The Fundamentals of Drawing, which will also feature a sketchbook element.
And then there’s the festive bonus: five glorious weeks of leave over Christmas and well into January—the perfect time to:
a) ask Santa for a sketchbook, and
b) actually draw in it.
