Semester 2 | Week 6
WOAH, WE'RE HALF WAY THERE!!!
As is tradition, on week 6 of any semester, here's Jon and his band of merry Bon jovis...
In his biography "Jon Bon Jovi*, taking my bon bon time in Bon Jovi by Jon Bon Jovi, (Jon Bon Jovi Publishing)" Jonny talks about his love of being exactly half way...
"...whether speaking in terms of distance or meta physical philosophy, my absolute favourite position between two identified points is, and always has been, half way!
I absolutely love the sense of being equidistant from my start point as I am from my destination. That feeling really speaks to me and it's where I'm most comfortable. If I'm a little closer to the start or, for that matter, the finish, I feel a sense of unease creep over me. The hairs on the back of my neck (hidden by my world renowned, back-combed mullet until the late 90's) stand on end. I'd say half way is definitely my sweet spot. My best guess is that it stems from my childhood. My family were originally from Maine and when I was 4 my father moved us to South Carolina - only our car broke down, irreparably in New Jersey - exactly half way between our origin and destination, and so there we stayed, and I've not stoped banging on about New Fucking Jersey, ever since! In my opinion, half way is the only way".
(all of this to say, week six is the middle of the semester)

Edinburgh
Enhancement week trip
Thursday 26th March
Thursday 26th March
|
As I mentioned in the intro above, we’ve only got four weeks of teaching left before Enhancement Week and Easter arrive. We also know that many of you like to use Enhancement Week as an early Easter break - so we wanted to give you a heads‑up now.
As part of Enhancement Week, on Thursday 26th March, there will be a free bus trip to Edinburgh, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible join us. The day is yours to spend however you like, but alongside the shops, cafés, and delightful tourist‑tat emporiums Edinburgh is famous for, we’d really encourage you to make the most of its brilliant galleries and museums. They’re fantastic places to explore, get inspired, and - most importantly - draw. So before you book your trains and buses home a week early, have a think about joining us for a day in Edinburgh first! |
